CITROËN COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Integration of environmental issues from vehicle design to recycling
At each stage of the vehicle life cycle, Citroën teams are mobilized to limit the impact of the automobile on the environment as much as possible: control of consumption, CO2 emissions and pollutants, rational use of natural resources, better recyclability, ... Citroën's commitment covers:
- Consideration of environmental issues from the design of products and services;
- The implementation of the principles of the circular economy, in particular the reuse and recycling of materials.
DESIGN
Eco-design aims to ensure a lead in terms of sustainable mobility, beyond the compliance of vehicles with environmental regulations. For Citroën, it translates into a large share of research and innovation allocated to clean technologies and green materials.
PRODUCTION
To produce carbon-free vehicles, Citroën has an industrial tool capable of controlling its own impacts and capable of responding to major environmental challenges.
AFTER-SALES
In order to encourage its points of sale and repair workshops to take initiatives in favor of better management of their waste, Citroën is taking steps to sort and recover it.
RECYCLAGE
Citroën strives to increase the efficiency of its recycling process by designing products that are sustainable from the start. The objective is also to reduce the amount of waste produced during the manufacture of a vehicle, during its use and until it is recycled.
